F1 Showdown

F1 races get interesting when there is rain, but this weekend had none of it, quite unlike last year and quite unlike Melbourne, actually. Instead, what it had was beautiful golden sun, which lent itself well to a great day of photogrphy. March is referred to as "Mad March" by Melburnians because of the numerous sporting events, concerts, and festivals that visit Melbourne during the time, and F1 was just the beginning of it.

As part of my photojournalism, I have been striving of late to document more events. But despite my best efforts (I swear), I missed out on grandstand tickets for the F1 season opener in Australia. So the fan zone was the only place where I could soak in the electric atmosphere and catch some of the F1 fever that the whole city was suffering from. And I am glad I missed out on the tickets. Because after the race, I was able to catch the beautiful Melbourne skyline during the sunset. What a treat to the eyes!
