CAMERA GEAR

Our travels generally include trekking and camping in difficult conditions. So, we prefer a travel photography kit that is as light and versatile as possible with as little compromises to image quality. We don't want our gear to weigh us down. So our priority criteria are size and weight, image quality and ease of use, in that order.

Sony a7iii

The best value for money full frame camera available in the market. Serves all our needs and some more. It doesn't have 4K 60p/120p or 10-bit video. But hey, there is no perfect camera. This was a no-brainer for us.

Sony 85mm f1.8

Our 2nd lens and used for special purposes only, as and when required. We don't shoot that many portraits with it though ! You will be surprised how much else it does too. This is our main lens for photojournalism.

Canon FD 50mm f1.4

You have to use it to really know how special this lens is !! This lens introduced us to the world of vintage manual focus primes and my god, we were mesmerised! This lens has the highest pleasure-to-photo ratio for us.

Insta360 One X2

YOSO - you only shoot once with this camera. With this, we can manufacture vertical as well as horizontal videos from one 360 video and that has been a game changer for us.

Fuji XT-30

If the Sony is our workhorse, this is the underrated genius in our pack. Excellent colors for photo. Given its tiny size and feather like weight, this has a very minimal footprint, which is why we like it very much.

Helios 44m-4

Oh the swirly bokeh. A specialty lens with a distinguished look to its images ! We are suckers for vintage lenses and we feel this is the best of the bunch. This is our guilty pleasure.

Fujinon 18-55mm f2.8-4

The best kit lens available in the market today. Period. Calling this a kit lens feels like an insult. Small and light and doesn't take up much space in your bag. Video auto-focus wise, this is the best Fuji lens.

Sennheiser MKE 400

This takes care of our audio. Simple controls, no complications, so that we just concentrate on the footage we get. It is light weight, all obvious audio controls on the mic and more importantly, does the job.

Samyang 24mm f1.8

Tiny but mighty, this is how Samyang describes this lens. And we agree. The best lens from the Samyang Tiny Series bunch. What you get with this lens is almost more than double of what you actually pay.

Helios 44m-6

Very little to distinguish it from its sibling 44m-4, bokeh is also not that swirly but wow! The way it renders the out of focus background is a thing to behold. Soviet lenses should be mainstream again.

DJI Mini 4 Pro

We are very nervous drone pilots. That makes it our least used gear. Having said that, this is one of the best additions we have made to our kit as it provides perspectives that no other gear in our kit can.

Zoom H1-N

The best budget on-site voice recorder for interviews, period. We also use it to record our background narrations back in our studio. This perfectly fits into the category of "old is gold".
